George School Day Camp: Philosophy

We seek to provide an emotionally and physically safe place for kids to learn to play together in healthful recreation. Like George School itself, which is an independent, coeducational Friends school, the Day Camp emphasizes respect for the individual and individual responsibility for the group. It is our goal to provide campers with a wide variety of games and activities. Whereas we are not a sports camp, campers do participate in a variety of traditional team sports for fun. We understand that not all kids may enjoy sports, so our activity leaders work very hard to help all kids feel successful in each activity. We do not stress skill acquisition but rather teamwork and participation.
